What you will make
A canvas tote bag decorated entirely by you, using fabric paints, botanical or geometric stamps, layered stencils, and freehand detail if you want it. The paint dries as you work. What you take home is a bag you'll actually use.

The experience
Settle in
Look over the materials: fabric paints, brushes, foam stamps, stencils in botanical, abstract, and geometric shapes. Browse the reference board or come in with your own idea.
Pick a direction
We walk through composition basics: layering, balance, how to use negative space. You settle on an approach before anything touches the bag.
First layer
A colour wash, a solid block, or raw canvas. The first mark is the hardest one. Everything after is easier.
Build it up
Stamps, stencils, and paint layers. This is where bags start diverging. Same materials, completely different results.
Add detail
Text, doodles, fine brushwork, a signature. Guided options are available; you don't have to improvise.
Done
The paint dries as you work. By the end of the session your bag is finished and ready to take home.

Questions
None at all. The workshop is structured so that every technique has a guided version and a more freehand version. You choose your comfort level as you go.
Fabric paint dries as you work and is reasonably durable on its own. If you want to make it extra long-lasting, you can iron the finished design at home. We recommend hand-washing or a gentle cold cycle to keep the colours vivid.
Yes, reference images are very welcome. If you have something specific in mind (a motif, a style, a colour palette), bring it along or send it ahead and we'll make sure we have what you need.
We offer a broad palette and a varied selection of stamps and stencils. If you have a strong colour vision, come a few minutes early and we'll make sure your preferred palette is set out. For large group bookings, themed workshops can be arranged.
Fabric paint is surprisingly forgiving. Layers cover a lot, and what looks like a mistake often becomes a feature. We're there the whole time to help course-correct before anything is permanent.
Approximately 2–2.5 hours from start to finish, including time to settle in and explore materials before you start painting.
