What you take home
A painted vinyl record, about 30cm across, sealed and ready to hang. The circular shape and the grooves in the surface make it easier than painting on canvas the record has its own geometry and the texture catches the paint in a way that always looks good. No two come out the same.
The experience
Pick your record
Choose a real vinyl record from the session's selection. The label stays visible and becomes part of the design.
First layer
Prep the surface and put down your base colour. The paint is rich and covers well.
Build it up
Add colour, texture, detail. The grooves in the record catch the paint in a way that looks great.
Seal and take home
We varnish your finished piece. It's dry and ready to hang before you leave.

Who it's for
Anyone who wants to try
You don't need to paint, draw, or have any idea what you're doing. Most people who come have never done this before. That's kind of the point.
People who like making things
If you already enjoy a bit of craft or art, vinyl painting will feel immediately satisfying. The surface is interesting to work with and the results are genuinely good.
Groups and couples
A good few hours with someone. You're working side by side, each on your own record, in your own direction. Better than most things you could book for the evening.
16 and over

Questions
Not a thing. The workshop covers everything from how to hold a palette knife to how to build a colour palette you actually like. The vinyl surface itself does a lot of the work the grooves create texture automatically.
Yes, real records. The labels are visible and often become part of the design. There's something good about painting on an actual object.
We seal each finished piece with a protective acrylic varnish at the end of the session. The varnish protects the paint from fading and light wear.
Almost everything works, but the surface is particularly sympathetic to abstract, organic, and celestial styles galaxy scenes, botanical overlays, abstract colour fields. The circular format and groove texture do beautiful things with dry-brushing and layering. We'll show you during the session.
Standard LP size approximately 30cm (12 inches) in diameter. Large enough to make a statement on a wall, compact enough to fit anywhere.
Yes, and we encourage it. If you have a reference image, colour palette, or style in mind, bring it along. The session is guided but not prescriptive your vision takes priority.
Subject to availability, yes extra records can be purchased on the day. Some guests use the session to make a diptych or a small collection for a gallery wall.
Free cancellation up to 48 hours before. Within 48 hours, the booking is non-refundable but can be transferred to another date or given to a friend.
